The Choir Room

Katy skipped into glee club, an event that she had become accustomed to during her time with the New Directions. She was still the new kid, though even though she'd become quite close to some of the glee kids. She took her seat and crossed her legs as she bopped in her seat to a song she was singing in her head.

Rachel stalked into the choir room for glee. It was always the highlight of her day and even though most of the time, half the glee club tore her down, she enjoyed being there. It was the only part of the day where she was guaranteed to be sitting with Finn. Most of the glee club was already there. "Mr Schuester, I advise we figure out a set list for Nationals. I have a few suggestions prepared an-" "Rachel." Mr Schue interrupted and Rachel looked at him expectantly. "Mr Schuester, since Regionals, we have been neglecting the preperat-" "Rachel!" Mr Schuester cut her off again. "Sit down!" Rachel was surprised by his tone and immediately took her seat next to Finn.

Quinn walked into glee club and took her seat in her usual place, near the back. She wasn't on the cheerios and was waiting for the try outs to try out again. That meant she was wearing normal clothes and still got the weird looks. She watched Puck walk in and sit next to her. They kissed before holding hands and waiting for glee to start.

Rachel remained indifferent as the rest of the glee club entered the choir room. Mr Schue smiled and greeted them warmly which caused Rachel to think that maybe she had imagined his sharp tone. The small brunette smoothed down her skirt again and crossed her legs. That was, until she noticed Finn smiling brightly at Katy and her eyes narrowed, failing in hiding her jealousy and suspicion.

"Finn, I have the perfect duet to sing at nationals. You Can't Stop The Beat from Hairspray." Rachel smiled up at her boyfriend, gently tugging on his arm to regain his attention. Finn watched her with raised eyebrows. "I have no idea what that is." He admitted. Rachel smiled encouragingly and patted his arm before turning back to greet Quinn and Puck with a smile displaying her camraderie within the group.

"Sorry I'm late guys." Brittany apologized quickly when she entered the choir room. She took her seat and went on, "I zipped myself up and I couldn't see the zip so I couldn't unzip myself and there was no one around and I couldn't see where I was going but Lord Tubbington saved me in the end." After telling the terrifing story, well it was for Brittany anyway, she relaxed in her chair and turned her attention to Mr.Schue and her fellow glee club members.

Rachel rolled her eyes and shook her head in an inconspicuous gesture. "Well, I uh- I'm glad you could join us, Brittany." Mr Schuester smiled at the ditzy glee club member. Rachel wondered how the blonde ever got on the brainiacs. "So," Mr Schuester started, rubbing his hands together. "Any suggestions on what we should take to Nationals?" Mr Schuester grinned. "On how we're gonna win Nationals." Finn corrected. Rachel smiled proudly up at her boyfriend.

"Onepieces." Brittany blurted out, now muffled because she'd zipped it up to just under her nose. Then she looked down scared of getting roared at by Rachel. Brittany started to look round her, as if she was trying to figure out where it came from.

Rachel, who had learned a little patience when it came to Brittany, turned in her seat to help her fellow glee clubber out. She dragged the catch down a little to the right place. She smiled politely at the only Cheerio who had ever been nice to her and as some of the glee club snickered, inspiration came to Rachel and a knowing grin spread across her face. She was going to write a song about being united. Rachel swung easily in her set to face the front again.

Brittany smiled back to Rachel, she wasn't expecting that. Rachel looked like she had an idea but instead of asking what it was Brittany figured that she'd hear about it soon enough.

Rachel, who decided on keeping her idea to herself until it was done, glanced around the non-volunteering club and sighed quietly, taking Finn's hand and pulled him to his feet with her. "Finn and I have prepared a duet." The small brunette announced.

"Cool!" Alex, who was on the cieling said. Everyone looked up, as the monkey boy dropped from the cieling and landed on his fist, he stood up with one hand. "Hey!"

Brittany watched Alex in awe, "Spiderman!" She exclaimed, pointing to him.

Alex shook his head. "I'm not Spiderman, I wish. I used to play Spider-Man with Rachel when we were little."

Rachel frowned up at where the boy had once been. She wondered if she'd imagined it. But, knowing Alex, probably not. Finn laughed with Brittany and She just smiled and nodded to Brad who started playing the piano.

"Oh. Well, You could always be Ceilingman, no one's taken that one yet." Brittany suggested. After that she watched Rachel perform, always so intense.

Sam stayed quiet through the start of the lesson. Only allowing a quiet, coughed 'whipped' when Rachel had announced that she and Finn had "prepared a duet".

Rachel glanced up when she hears footsteps entering the room. She anxiously--and possessively--looked across at Finn to check he wasn't looking at Quinn. Rachel knew that Quinn was prettier than her--though she was more talented, of course--and knew Finn would always feel something for Quinn, his first love. She quickly looked away from both of them and crossed her legs, she folded her hands in her lap, waiting for Mr Schuester.

Rachel pulled out her pink notebook and pen and began to take notes as their glee club teacher explained the list of their competition for Nationals and possible song choices.

*AFTER GLEE*

After glee Quinn stood immediatly to catch
Rachel before she ran off somewhere and
walked over to tap her on the shoulder.
"Hello, Rachel. I was wondering..." Quinn
said and smiled sweetly at her although
she reaallly wanted to punch her now.
"I was wondering if you would like to write
a song with me as we are doing original
songs for regionals." Quinn finished and carried
on her smile.

Rachel turned with a smile to see that Quinn had been the one to tap her shoulder. Her smile faltered slightly before it returned to it's normal capacity. When Quinn was done speaking, Rachel stood frozen for a few short moments. "You and I?" Rachel asked, her tone turning slightly skeptical. "Quinn, you hate me. Why would you want to write a song with me?"

Rachel thought for a few moments, her expression somewhat skeptical. But even she had to admit that Quinn was probably correct and with both of their musical minds, they could create a song to help their Nationals win. Rachel eventually nodded. "I see your point."
